Students enrolled in the beginners' group lessons are not required to have private lessons, although a limited number of private lessons may be appropriate occasionally, such as when a student has missed several class meetings, or has enrolled in the program several weeks late, and needs to catch up.
For students enrolled in the more advanced group lessons, there are weekly private lessons designed especially to complement the group lessons. These private lessons help ensure that the student develops a mastery of the priciples taught in the group class, and are especially important as the group class lessons becomes progessively more advanced and fast-paced. In addtion to reinforcing the material taught in the group class, the private lessons also develop the student's repertoire performance skills, for repertoire sharing in the group meetings and at recitals.

This fun-filled program carries out the Yamaha Music Education System concepts of group learning at a very young level. A Wonderful way for the older beginner to start.
